A spherical form by Bertoia in patinated bronze. In this sculpture, the rods radiating from a central core have globules on their outer ends which compose the outer surface of the sculpture. Bertoia was fascinated by the possibility of creating a sculpted surface that was composed of individual points, rather than planes. As a result, the forms are infused with elements of the conceptual, relating the piece to mathematical concepts of infinity.
