Incised date and signature. Zakoian studied at the Institute of Design, Chicago and worked closely with Chicago sculptor Cosmo Campoli. Zakoian was a master of bronze casting and managed the Contemporary Art Workshop foundry in Chicago. This example, consisting of a large bronze figure and hand-carved wooden base, is one of his most ambitious works.
