The Chiat Day Virtual Office in Manhattan was Gaetano Pesce's focus from 1993 to 1996 when the 50,000 square foot project was completed. Every detail of the space and all of the furnishings were designed by the artist. In 1998 the company relocated and the office was destroyed. Only a handful of pieces survived. These doors were saved from the demolition crew as the space was destroyed. Hand painted for the space in 1995 each door is an individual independent work. The Chiat Day design firm was a leading force in advertising in the 90s and an important part of the culture. For Pesce this project was an important achievement.
