Beginning in 1956, Arne Jacobsen began his best know commission for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Designing the complete structure and furnishing, he created such modern icons as the Egg and Swan chair. The Giraffe chair, shown here, was designed exclusively for the dining room in the hotel and was never put into production.
