This set of eight chairs was originally acquired in in the 1960s by the National Academy of Sciences, Washington DC where they were used around a conference table in the office of the academy’s president, Philip Handler and later around his dining table at his official residence in the Watergate. Signed with branded manufacturer's mark to underside of each example: [Johannes Hansen Copenhagen Denmark].
