David Powell designed furniture for Queen Elizabeth II before he moved to the United States in 1969. With business partner John Tierney, Powell founded the Leeds Design Workshop in Easthampton, Massachusetts where he taught for nearly fifteen years. An influential presence in woodworking, Powell, who produced few designs throughout his career, is widely recognized for his expert craftsmanship. This unique desk exhibits the delicate, complex and flawless details that Powell skillfully bestowed to each of his designs.
